Distinguished Secretary General - General Manager Award
King Abdullah II Center for Excellence launched The Distinguished Secretary General/ General Manager Award at the 8th cycle of King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency in recognition of its leadership role and appreciation for its role in fostering the culture of excellence in government institutions and motivating them to achieve pioneering performance and outstanding achievements, at the Institutional and individual levels in government ministries, departments and institutions and to continue its active role in applying the concepts and standards of institutional excellence and maximizing its leadership, administrative and technical capabilities on the one hand, and enhancing Jordan's competitiveness on the regional and global levels.
The assessment process for the distinguished Secretary General / General Manager Award is divided into two parts:
- Assessing of the submission reports of candidates in order to selecting minimum the top 25% of them.
- Field visits and candidate interviews and to identify the Impressions superiors and subordinates, staff and service recipients in their workplace.
Assessing of the submission reports is based on two criteria, the first focuses on leadership and managerial skills and practices, while the second criterion is based on achieving the results and achievements of the candidates, then comes the third criterion that measures impressions and the public opinion about the candidate who has been chosen from the top 25%. The process ends with the fourth criterion, which includes the results of the government institution through its participation in the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency.
