Distinguished Government Employee Award categories

 

  Category 1: Leadership Officer Award / Supervisory Officer Award

Candidates for this category must:

• To be an employee working in leadership or supervisory positions in the ministry / institution of all types and names (Assistant to the Secretary General, Deputy Director General of the Foundation or Department, Assistant General Manager of an institution or department, director of department, director of department, head of department, etc. ). The Minister, the Secretary General or the Director General of the Foundation may not be nominated for the award because they are honored by the winning of the Ministry or institution.

  • Has worked in the leadership or supervisory position in the ministry / institution for two years or more at the date of nomination.
  • To head at least two subordinate employees.  

Second Category: Outstanding Administrative / Technical Officer Award

Candidates for this category must:

Be an employee in administrative or written jobs of technical nature of various types and names (engineering, legal, economic, financial, computer).

Have worked in the administrative or technical function in the ministry / institution for two years or more at the date of nomination 


Third Category: Outstanding Supporting Employee Award

Candidates for this category must:

  • To be a staff member in supporting service, professional or administrative positions (secretary, commissar, driver, etc).
  • Have worked in the supporting service or administrative function in the ministry / institution for two years or more at the date of nomination.
  •  Have a diploma or less.

Terms of participation:
 

  • The job title of the nominated employee must be matched with the category of the nominated candidate. The organizational structure of the ministry / institution shall be attached and the employee's position shall be indicated in order to ensure that this condition is met.
  • The same employee may not be nominated for more than one course in order to grant the rest of the staff the opportunity to run for the categories of the award even if he is nominated for a category other than the one he previously nominated.
  • The evaluation of the performance of the candidate in the past two years should not be less than very good.
  • The Foundation undertakes in the nomination form for the three categories of candidates to apply the conditions of nomination and will not evaluate any report of any employee sent not mentioned in the nomination form.
  • If the employee's job title has been changed after being nominated for any of the three categories, he may remain a candidate for his category if he remains at the same job level, and his performance is evaluated based on the past two years.
  • If the employee is transferred to another location of the ministry / institution in which he works after being nominated for any of the three categories, he may remain a candidate for his category in the event that he remains at the same level of the job. The performance is evaluated based on the past two years and in the old geographical location.
  • The employee who is nominated for the Distinguished Government Employee Award should not receive any form of sanctions (alert, warning, dismissal, etc.) during the last two years of his / her work at the ministry / institution.
  • The Center has the right to refuse the participation of any candidate who does not meet the above requirements at any stage of the evaluation.

Advantages of obtaining the distinguished government employee award

  • The employee who is the recipient of the distinguished government employee award is considered to be the highest among the public sector employees and the award is recognized in recognition of the excellence of his performance and efficiency.
  •  The employee receiving the award of the distinguished government employee receives a certificate of thanks and appreciation and a souvenir of the prize and a financial reward.
  •  Following the announcement of the results, each employee visited at his work site receives an evaluation report that includes the most important strengths and opportunities for improvement, which helps to improve his performance.
  •  In accordance with clause (b) of the provisions of Article (34) of Civil Service Law No. (82) of 2013, the employee who receives the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency shall be granted five annual increments.
  • The increase stipulated in paragraphs (a) and (b) of this Article shall be granted by a decision of the Minister upon the recommendation of the Central Committee from the last day of December of each year.
  • The employee who is awarded the Certificate of Excellence receives a certificate of thanks and appreciation as well as an evaluation report that includes the most important strengths and opportunities for improvement, which helps to improve its performance in the future.
