Excellence in Public Service Award

The Civil Service is a field of excellence, giving, commitment and precision that reflects the bright image of Jordan to all those dealing with government institutions.

By the Royal decree, the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency was created on September 2001. In implementation of the royal directives, the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence has created two new awards under the umbrella of the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency, Excellence in public Service Award and the Government Innovation Award.

Excellence in public Service Award aims at building a framework for improving the level of services and providing a better service to the recipients of the service, and building and disseminating the culture of government service excellence by providing services to all categories of service recipients with all efficiency and excellence. It also aims to develop the mechanisms and systems of dealing with the "voice of the service recipients" such as handling complaints and suggestions and measuring the degree of satisfaction of the recipients of the service and identify their needs, in addition to activating the means of dealing and communicating with the recipients of the service and work to improve them so as to enable government agencies to raise the level of interaction with citizens.

This award was developed after reviewing the awards and experiences of various countries such as the United Kingdom, Singapore, Australia, America and the United Arab Emirates, and therefore the practices listed in the award booklet are considered the best practices in the provision of outstanding government service, therefore, the distinguished institution applies most or all of the practices listed in the booklet.
