King Abdullah II Center for Excellence has introduced two new awards under the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency, the Government Excellence Award and the Innovation in Public Sector Award.

The award aims to instill innovation and creativity as a dominant culture in the ministries and institutions of the public sector, beyond being individual entrepreneurial initiatives that are not based on a specific system that supports creativity. This helps the ministry / institution to improve its performance by providing innovative services to the recipients.

The award seeks to leverage the potential of public sector employees, which, if directed and supportive environment, will achieve the highest levels of creativity and innovation necessary to improve government services.

The Government Innovation Award and its requirements are complementary to the efforts of ministries and institutions in their quest for excellence through the implementation of the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency, which intersects significantly with the Creative Award criteria, which can be included within the master plans / systems of the ministry / institution without the need to create new or parallel systems.
