Municipality Excellence Award

In implementation of the royal directives on the necessity of enhancing the performance of municipalities and highlighting the importance of their role in achieving sustainable local development, and based on the mission of the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence in spreading the culture of excellence in Jordan, the Center launched the first cycle of the Municipality Excellence Award in cooperation with the Ministry of Local Administration and with the support of the USAID Jordan Cities Implementing Transparent, Innovative, and Effective Solutions (CITIES) project.

During the closing session of the 2019 Jordan Municipalities Conference His Majesty  expressed support for incentives to boost municipalities’ engagement, such as awards for municipal excellence, the most creative development project at the municipal level and for the cleanest municipality. In line with His Majesty directives KACE has launched the first cycle of the Municipality Excellence Award.

Award’s Scope: 

All municipalities in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under the three categories (A, B and C)

Award Objectives :

  1. Creating positive competition between municipalities to provide best services.

  2. Developing and consolidating the value of municipal work and its importance to the local community.

  3. Strengthening the community's contribution in determining the priorities of municipal work

  4. Increasing citizen confidence  in the municipality through its achievement of the desired results.

  5. Developing and consolidating the concepts of strategic planning and municipal work management

  6. Enhancing the concepts of efficient and effective resource management and raising the level of performance of municipality employees.

  7. Achieving outstanding results and ensuring their sustainability.
